The basic assumption for months now has been that Michael Sheen, a.k.a. David Frost from Frost/Nixon, would be playing the villain in Tron: Legacy, because who better to take on Jeff Bridges than the man who made Nixon fess up to doing wrong?
But Coming Soon has learned that, in fact, Sheen's role is something closer to the owner of a Tron-verse version of Studio 54. Talking to Coming Soon at the Toronto Film Festival, Sheen said, "My stuff was mainly in this amazing set that they built because I'm a nightclub host, so they built the nightclub and there were hundreds of extras and it was one of those great scenes where there's just loads going on."
Of course, no one is saying that a nightclub host can't also be a villain, and it seems pretty likely that that it could still be the case. In fact, lightcycle battles inside a nightclub might be what we're all looking for from this sequel.
