Michelle Williams Delays Film Shoot In Order To Mourn

Michelle Williams Delays Film Shoot In Order To Mourn Well, this isn’t surprising. After attending a private memorial service in Los Angeles over the weekend for her ex-fiancee Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams is taking time away from the shoot of her new movie, Blue Valentine, in order to mourn. An unnamed source told People "We will hold off until she is ready. The production is in the process of sorting it out in respect to her."

The movie also stars Ryan Gosling, who was seen wearing a black ribbon at Sunday’s SAG Awards in honor of Ledger, whom he called a friend. Gosling and Williams play a married couple sorting out issues in their relationship. The film will be the feature directing debut of Derek Cianfrance, who also wrote the screenplay. Production was set to begin February 25, but it’s now been delayed indefinitely.

It’s hard not to think of the people who must cope with a loss while also having to go back to work, getting nothing near a month of bereavement leave. At the same time, it’s good to know people are continuing to respect Williams as she mourns. Of course, the People article was accompanied by a recent photo of her, which means the paparazzi have continued to be in her face even in this difficult time. Maybe now that she won’t be on the set and traveling she can get away from the public eye, and take care of herself and her daughter. We’ll be ready to see her back onscreen when she comes back.
