Mick Jagger Rumored For Pirates Of The Caribbean 4

Keith Richards appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean 3 after Johnny Depp admitted his Captain Jack Sparrow performance was based on him. It turned out to be kind of a bad idea but at least it sort of made sense. Now though, Depp may want the Pirates franchise to start hiring Rolling Stones just for the hell of it.

Unreliable British tabloid the Express says Depp is trying to get Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger a part in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. They claim one of the ideas involves having Mick as one of the group of pirate elders of which Richards is a part. And that’s actually where this rumor becomes pretty unlikely.

Everything we’ve heard about Pirates 4 seems to indicate that they’re abandoning pretty much everything from the previous movies and taking Jack Sparrow in a different direction. If that’s true, then there’s no reason to think the pirate elders would even be in Pirates of the Caribbean 4, let alone add a new member from the Rolling Stones. Another fake tabloid rumor? Probably so. At least I hope so. The last thing the Pirates franchise needs is another gimmick. If he is involved in the film, I hope they consider writing him a part as a re-animated skeleton. That at least is believable.
