Heads up: Hilary Swank is once again going to be playing a down-on-her-luck, lower class gal who decides to take a stand and change things around here. The role she played in Million Dollar Baby and Freedom Writers will probably be pruned a little for Betty Anne Waters, given that it's a real person she's playing. But either way, Minnie Driver has signed on for a role that's bound to be thankless, playing Swank's best friend "with a wild-party past."

THR is reporting that Driver has signed on to the project, which Tony Goldwyn (The Last Kiss) will direct. The real story it's based on is truly fascinating. Waters was inspired to earn a law degree when her brother was convicted of a crime he didn't commit, and spent the next decade working to free him. Better than going into law for the money, that's for sure. The movie starts shooting next month.
