Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren, and Robin Wright Penn have joined an already loaded cast for the upcoming State Of Play. The Kevin Macdonald directed picture follows a group of reporters and politicians whose lives intertwine when the newspaper decides to break a story involving a Congressman and his torrid affair with a mistress that ultimately results in her death. Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Jason Bateman have all previously signed on the dotted line.
According to Variety, Wright Penn will play the estranged ex-wife, while Mirren and McAdams will play an editor and reporter, respectively. Don’t get me wrong: this movie sounds great, but how the hell did producers land all of these big names? They must have held Pitt hostage and forced him to phone all of his buddies. The script is adapted from an acclaimed British miniseries and should begin pre-production fairly soon.
Am I the only one that still thinks Helen Mirren is a sex symbol? The woman is sixty-two for goodness sakes. I need to find out what vitamin supplements she takes and force them down my future wife’s throat immediately.
