Marissa Cooper from “The O.C.” was a character that everyone loved-to-hate, and she met a tragic fate in a car wreck last season. Or not so tragic, depending on how you look at it. Now, actress Mischa Barton is ready to ditch the small screen and head back to the big screen.
The super-skinny actress had a small part in Sixth Sense and did some rather strange flicks (Lawn Dogs, Lost and Delirious) before she landed the coveted rich-kid role on “The O.C.” The question is, will people welcome her back to movies with open arms?
Mischa sure hopes so. According to Topix, she spoke to a Hong Kong magazine recently about her latest project Closing The Ring, starring acting veterans Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer. When asked if she aspired to be like any other actresses, she said No, "But I have plenty that I admire, and Cate Blanchett is one of them." Join the club, honey.
The film is directed by Richard Attenborough (Gandhi) and is set to come out sometime in 2007.
