More Disturbia Moving In?![]()
Shia LeBeouf has had a heck of a year. With the success of Transformers and the celebration surrounding his Indiana Jones sequel role, there’s a lot the kid has going for him. It would be pretty easy to overlook the one movie that actually put LeBeouf front and center this year: Disturbia. Fans didn’t forget the movie, however, which broke $100 million in theaters, and that doesn’t include the more recent DVD sales.
When a studio sees dollar signs like that, there’s one thing they think of: a sequel. Even though Disturbia’s story doesn’t warrant it in the least, Bloody Disgusting reports that a sequel is in the works. There’s no word on who might be connected with the project – no writers names, or talk of LeBeouf returning. Just that a sequel is in the works. I actually enjoyed most of Disturbia but I don’t see any sort of justification for a second film other than sheer greed. I’m picturing this going straight to video with some Shia LeBeouf look-a-like in the lead and maybe, if we’re lucky, someone as creepy as David Morse stalking him in a carbon copy of the original’s story. |
