More Movie Talk From The Arrested Development Cast![]()
The cast of Arrested Development is still wandering around attempting to bait Hollywood into making a movie out of their cancelled television show. Isn’t that really what this is becoming at this point? I’m starting to think there is no movie, and that the cast just keeps hinting that there is in order to build buzz for the idea of a project and hopefully, somewhere down the road use that buzz into talking some studio into financing it.
We’ve had two Arrested Development cast members doing just that in the past couple of days. Jason Bateman was at it again while on the Oscar red carpet. He was of course, there in support of Juno, and while gushing over Ellen Page and Diablo Cody he hinted that the movie might be a possibility. Tonight it was Will Arnett pimping the idea of a movie on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Because the question is now almost obligatory, Conan asked him if the movie was happening. Arnett responded by saying, “I don't know if there's an appetite for an Arrested Development movie.” Hint hint, he’s trying to prod fans into sending in letters or something. But then he went on to say “Yeah, we are currently in talks.” That would seem to indicate that someone is developing it, whether there’s an appetite for it or not. At this point, it’s getting a little tedious listening to the cast hinting at the movie. If it’s going to happen, let’s get moving on it. If it’s not, shut up guys and move on to something else. You’ve all got nice careers going, who needs Arrested Development? |
