More Shadowy Attackers In New Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark Poster![]()
Though the movie is called Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, the people marketing it are certainly trying to make you feel the opposite. Continuing with the “the shadows are going to get you” motif seen in the previous poster, this new poster shows us that Bailee Madison at least makes it halfway down the stairs and that this impending darkness is sort of lazy. I mean come on, she’s a little girl with a camera. She can’t be that difficult to catch.
As far as posters go, this campaign is nice and the poster is cool. You get a clear idea of what the movie will bring to the table in terms of style and and tone, which is more than you can say for 90% of modern posters who can’t seem to sever their floating heads. If the poster accomplishes nothing else it’s just another promo piece that Miramax can boldly place Guillermo del Toro’s name on. He didn’t direct--that credit goes to rookie director Troy Nixey--but his name won’t sell tickets like del Toro’s yet. So scope out the new poster below, from Empire, and prepare yourself for the film’s August 26th release. ![]() |
