More Sidekick Roles For Danny McBride![]()
Danny McBride's mainstream career thus far has screamed "sidekick!" Sure, he's the leading man in The Foot Fist Way and the TV series Eastbound and Down, but in his biggest movies-- Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express and the upcoming Land of the Lost-- he's been the scenestealer, the guy in the background who, out of nowhere, becomes your favorite character.
And somehow, even though he's the lead in Warner Bros.' upcoming Hench, he's going to be the sidekick in that as well. Variety writes that he's signed on to play a former football player who resorts to becoming a henchman to a successful villain. The story is based on the AIT/Planet Lar graphic novel by Adam Beechen and Mario Bello; McBride will co-write the screenplay with Eastbound and Down writer Shawn Harwell. There aren't many people I'd rather see become a star than Danny McBride, who has cracked me up in everything I've seen him in and has one of those unique comic voices that has yet to be sucked away by Hollywood. I don't know anything about the graphic novel, but Hench sounds like it's in the Dr. Horrible |
