More of the King's Men

Because no one asked for it, and because there’s nothing else left to remake, Anthony Hopkins, James Gandolfini, and Patricia Clarkson are bellying up for roles in the new version of All the Kings Men. The original film won Oscars for a lot of the cast, but I doubt if this one will fare as well. Why? Here’s a little secret: James Gandolfini can’t act. He’s got one character and that’s it. He does that one character so well, he’s become overrated to the point he’s being allowed in a movie with Anthony Hopkins. He’ll stink (as he always does) and people will forgive him as long as HBO keeps teasing everyone with the prospect of more “Sopranos”. I can’t wait for that show to go away so James can hit the road too.

Hopkins, Clarkson, and Tony join a cast already composed of greats like Sean Penn, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and Mark Ruffalo. The Steve Zaillion directed adaptation should hit theaters some time after they actually start filming it.
