When not playing God or simulating the voice of God watching over cute little penguins, Morgan Freeman is also one of Hollywood's best actors. He's also one of the busiest. Lately Morgan seems to be caught up in science fiction movies, and that shows no sign of changing. He narrated War of the Worlds, he showed up in Batman Begins, and let's face it… Evan Almighty is a sort of science fiction too. Oh come on, we all know God is just a giant machine run by the Russians.
The Hollywood Reporter says that next on Morgan's big time sci-fi schedule is Wanted, a film from Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmanbetov (Coincidence? I think not.). The script is based on a comic by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones about a man who discovers that his long-lost father is an assassin. When dad is murdered, his son follows in his footsteps and joins his secret organization of killers.
James McAvoy has been cast as the son, and Morgan Freeman is in negotiations play his the head of his father's assassination and the son's mentor, Sloan. Somebody watches 'Alias'.
