Moriarty Will Be In Sherlock Holmes![]()
Mark Strong is getting all the credit as the bad guy of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, playing "the ultimate cad" Lord Blackwood in the film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. But apparently there are even bigger villain fish to fry-- and those will be saved for the sequel.
He told IGN that Holmes's super-duper archnemesis, Moriarty, will make a small appearance in the film. ""Moriarty's in it... but you don't really see him. I think he's there because if the franchise carries on, there's a possibility that he will appear in a larger guise." Ahhh, so it's all about the sequel, is it? Doesn't surprise me-- this movie has potential to be massive provided it's any good, and Holmes is a character well-suited to a sequel, having had so many serial adventures. Now the big question is just what Strong means when he says "you don't really see" Moriarty. Will it be like when you see the Joker's calling card at the end of Batman Begins? Or like how you saw Captain America in a vial in The Incredible Hulk? As if we didn't have enough to speculate over with the Sherlock Holmes movie. |
