You’ve seen him in My Best Friend’s Wedding, Undertow, Must Love Dogs and Zodiac (see a pattern here?), but his name might not ring a bell. It’s really a shame because Dermot Mulroney is one hell of a name. That is probably why he got the gig to dick around with Greg Kinnear in Universal’s Flash of Genius, reports Variety.

Mulroney will play the best friend of Robert Kearns (Kinnear), Gil Privick. Kearns owns a chain of auto-parts stores and when Privick invents the intermittent windshield wiper, they are sued by Detroit’s finest – the automakers – over patent infringements. Is that the most boring plot synopsis you’ve ever read? Me too.
