Right on the heels of the official poster for Munich comes the first trailer for the movie - a powerful and moving look that shows Munich will not be one of Steven Spielberg’s light hearted romps.
The movie, which tells the story of a secret squad of Israeli operatives assigned to assassinate Palestinians responsible for the attack on Israeli athletes during the 1972 Olympic games, will most decidedly be one of Spielberg’s Oscar-caliber emotional journeys. The trailer alone shows we are not dealing with a group of assassins, but people who are specifically not killers, and the personal toll this mission puts on them and those they love. In short, expect it to be a film from the Schindler’s List/Saving Private Ryan part of Spielberg’s brain.
The trailer has popped online courtesy of the official Munich website. The film comes to theaters December 23rd.
