Muppets Take On Blu-Ray In Space, New York![]()
The Muppets are almost back in action, and to celebrate, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is re-releasing two Muppet favorites on Blu-Ray. Muppets From Space and The Muppets Take Manhattan will hit stores on August 16. The re-release of these films looks to be in anticipation of The Muppets, the Jason Segel/Nicholas Stoller-written film, which is set to reach theaters this November.
The releases look pretty solid. The Blu-Rays will only run buyers $19.99 and both films will come with special features. Muppets From Space, which originally came out in 1999, will come with outtakes, a featurette, and the “Shining Star” video. The Muppets Take Manhattan came out in 1984, before Jim Henson’s death, so the Blu-Ray release will actually include interview footage with Henson. Three featurettes focusing on Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy and Kermit, and Pepe will also come with the film.
