Whether you’re a Twilight hater or an obsessive fan, there’s something amusing about revealing filmmaking goofs. Well, amusing but also disappointing. New Moon’s list already has 18 mistakes and some of those errors are far too grandiose to be excused.

My movie pet peeve is visible equipment and New Moon has three instances during which you see something you shouldn’t. Remember that part when Jacob does an acrobatic dance up to Bella’s window? There’s a random white band on his wrist, which is actually a stunt prop. Then there’s the contact lens issue. I found the dramatic eye color far too intense to digest to begin with, and the fact that you can see the rims of the lenses makes them even more absurd. Those are bad, but the worst is this: “In the montage scenes where we see Bella's depression, when the camera is circling her, the camera man is shown in the mirror (twice) behind her.” Seriously? Twice?

There’s also this one, “In the main title when the giant new moon appears on the screen the shadow fades over the moon from right to left when it should actually fade from left to right. The moon travels around the earth clockwise. The waning moon should turn to a new moon, not the waxing which is shown.” At first you’d think the filmmakers never even took this into account. It’s probably just a fade effect and nothing more. But, the thing is, this effect is incredibly long. Why drag out something as minimal as the flash of the movie’s title unless you’re trying to make a point? The rest of the list mainly consists of continuity issues, but is still worth checking out. Head over to MovieMistakes.com to take a look.

In New Moon’s defense, every movie has its oops. 2012, for instance, has racked up 21 goofs, Inglorious Basterds 20 and Zombieland 13. The movies with the most mistakes of all time include Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with 289, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with 296 and Apocalypse Now with a whopping 390 errors.
