MOVIE NEWS
Museum Gets Old![]()
When I heard Ben Stiller’s next film would be called Night at the Museum, I never suspected they’d actually be going to the museum for some of the cast.
Surprising fans of good comedy everywhere, classic actors Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney are joining the cast of Night at the Museum, as the villains of all things according to The Hollywood Reporter. They will play fellow security guards of Stiller’s character, who discovers a magical pharaoh’s tablet. The villains want the powers of the tablet to become young again and, no doubt, comedy ensues. While I’m not sure the world is ready for Van Dyke and Rooney in a Stiller film (can anyone imagine “hair gel” hanging from Van Dyke’s ear?) this is welcome news to me. I’m always a fan of getting comedic gods like these two back for one more picture, and putting them together is even better. Here’s hoping the DVD release offers outtakes of two old comedians hamming it up on set. |
