Ben Stiller is not exactly known for taking serious, dramatic roles. And thank goodness for that! Kookiness is the spice of life.

According to Hollywood Reporter, his latest movie takes him to the last place you'd expect to find him prowling: a museum. Stiller is in negotiations to star in A Night At The Museum for 20th Century Fox, directed by Shawn Levy.

The comedy is about a sweet-but-clueless security guard (Stiller) who works at the Museum Of Natural History. For those of you who haven't been there, let me tell you, it has some scary exhibits. Imagine the prehistoric era recreated with animals and men who like they've been stuffed and preserved. Like what your grandma would look like if she had cotton implanted under her skin and a long, glazed-over stare.

While working the night shift at the museum, Stiller accidentally brings down an ancient curse that makes the animals and insects display come to life. Not quite what he bargained for when he took the job. The film will shoot in Vancouver to be closer to the special effects facilities.

Shooting begins early next year and is scheduled for a holiday 2006 release.
