Ben Stiller is a hit or miss actor for me. Either I really like what he does (Something About Mary, Dodgeball) or he annoys the heck out of me (Zoolander) but there’s little to be found in between. The fact that his next film, Night at the Museum, looks so promising excites me, because when Stiller is on, he’s really on.
Consider the cast other than Stiller – comedic geniuses Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney, along with the lovely Carla Gugino. Add in Paul Rudd, Ernest Borgnine, Ricky Gervais, and Robin Williams and you’ve got two possibilities: one of the funniest movies in decades, or an overstuffed disaster.
Well, the first trailer for Night has hit the internet to give us a glipse of what the movie will be… or is this the second trailer. While it’s a good trailer, it’s a much shorter version than the trailer I saw in the theater this past weekend attached to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Some sites are claiming it’s the international trailer. If so, that’s a shame. The overseas audiences are missing out on a lot of hilarious moments that appear in the domestic trailer.
