Must Watch: John Carpenter's The Thing Reenacted With Penguins And Claymation
When deciding whether or not something on the internet is cool, sometimes all you need to do is look at it in terms of its parts. If you have something that's awesome, and you combine it with something else that's awesome, the result is something that is awesome x2. It's a formula that has worked for centuries, and has given us amazing things like popcorn and movies, beer and sports, and peanut butter and jelly. But what if you combine three awesome things together? Let's do an experiment! Let's take one part claymation, one part penguins, and one part John Carpenter's The Thing. The result is director Lee Hardcastle's new YouTube video and, as you might have guessed, it's awesome x3.
Check out the video below.
You know, I wasn't aware that I spent my entire life waiting for a claymation penguin to throw a stick of dynamite at a grotesque monster, but I honestly feel like I just scratched an item off my bucket list. For those unaware of Hardcastle, he recently won a contest to be included as the 26th segment of the upcoming horror anthology The ABC's of Death. The short is called "T is for Toilet" and the movie showcases 26 very random ways that people may meet their maker. I'll let you do the math from there.
