Innaritu is only executive producing Mother and Child, but he probably made use of his Oscar-nominated past to score the ridiculously good cast for this ensemble drama: Naomi Watts and Annette Bening are headlining, with Kerry Washington and Shareeka Epps (of Half-Nelson) along as well.

The director will be Rodrigo Garcia, whose first feature was the poorly received, and completely ignored, Passengers, but has also directed episodes of Six Feet Under, Big Love, and wrote, produces and directs some episode of In Treatment. Variety says the film is about a woman who gave up her daughter for adoption 35 years ago a, as well as an African-American woman trying to adopt.
