Harry Potter may not have a mom and dad (living), but his student nemesis, Draco Malfoy does. We’ve seen Draco’s dad in several of the movies already, skillfully played by Jason Isaacs, and now Draco’s mom is going to put in an appearance.

Couriermail is reporting that King Kong’s love interest, Naomi Watts has signed on to play Narcissa Malfoy, mother of Draco, in the upcoming movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Watts is perfect for the role with her pale skin and platinum blonde look. I don’t recall seeing her play such a haughty, nasty character before, but visually she’s a perfect match... not to mention a reason to be jealous of Draco.

Also in discussions for the upcoming flick: Joseph Fiennes, little brother to Ralph Fiennes, who is well embedded in the Potter storyline as Lord Voldemort. Approaching Joseph makes a lot of sense, as Half-Blood Prince spends a lot of time looking at Voldemort’s backstory. Who better to play a relative of Voldemort or a younger version than the real brother of the actor playing Voldemort?

The article also mentions Stuart Townsend (He-who-once-was-Aragorn) is also signing on to the movie, although no mention of who he’d play. Personally I’m still waiting for Bob Hoskins to be signed on to play Horace Slughorn. That’s been rumored to be in the works, but nothing solid has come yet. Here’s hoping!
