Nathan Fillion hasn’t found success captaining a starship (“Firefly”) or driving a fast car (“Drive”), but he hasn’t given up on vehicular vehicles yet. The Waitress star is signed on to appear in Trucker, a film about a female truck driver who lives a life free of responsibility until she suddenly is tied to her 11-year-old-son after his father his hospitalized.
No, Fillion isn’t playing the female trucker. Instead Michelle Monaghan (Mission Impossible III) will take the lead in the movie, according to Variety. He isn’t playing the hospitalized father either; that role is going to Benjamin Bratt. I know what you’re thinking – that leaves the son. Nope, Jimmy Bennett (Hostage) will play the bundle of responsibility.
So who does that leave for Nathan Fillion? No idea. Although both he and Joey Lauren Adams are included in the cast list for the movie, there’s no indication who or what they’ll be playing. For now we’ll pretend there some sort of evil trucking couple who want to knock the lead character out of their way so they can be the best truckers ever. Probably they kidnap the little boy too. Seriously, we have no clue and I’m just making stuff up at this point, so don’t quote me.
