New 01-18-08 Image

We may not know what it’s called, but pictures are still trickling out online for the JJ Abrams produced 01-18-08 aka Cloverfield movie. The latest one to pop up on the film’s official site you can see to your right, or in high-res below.

Aside from the fact that it’s kind of funny, it also seems to lend further credence to the rumors that the movie will be more about smaller creatures invading the city rather than a giant monster. Most of the leaks from the movie have indicated that they’re taking the disappointing Godzilla route. If you saw the Matthew Broderick updating of Toho’s classic monster, you know most of the movie was spent following raptor-like creatures attacking people rather than on the much cooler giant monster attacking.

So why do I say this photo supports that theory? Well what do you think the chef is about to attack with his tray? If he’s being endangered by a 50 story tall monster, I doubt he’d bother waving a serving tray at its toenail. He’s about to do battle with something that’ll fit in a kitchen. Lame raptor attack anyone?

Or is some sort of demonic goat? Several Cinema Blend readers have emailed me this week to point out the goat-like face between the two heads in this picture:

The picture is old, but I’d somehow missed that the first time I’d seen it. Others seem to think other old pictures on the film’s official site indicate it’s a dragon we’ll be watching. Some CB readers think they see the shadow of a dragon on the back of the soldier in this picture:

For now, enjoy the speculation and be prepared with the certainty that there’s pretty much no way the movie, whatever it’s called, will ever live up to the hype at this point. Here's the new pic:

its obvious i think, from the stuff o n the net. its some sort of deep sea creature, probably lizard like. slusho is a made up drink, which contains some sort of 'sea nectar' which makes it taste so good, the company that make said drink are also a deep sea drilling company, which has recently started drilling near New York (check official sites) slusho is also the name of some sort of deep sea drilling device. they probably awaken something(s) which attack the city, and possibly have something to do with the sea nectar... Huh? what do you reckon?

I would like to know what the japanese writing is on back of the chefs picture and if the two other writings are clues to somthing. I went to 1/18/08.com put the mouse in the middle of the pictures a moved it left to right fast and the fliped over.

ok. i went to the 01-18-08.com site and flipped the japanese guys' picture over, well i accidentally right clicked on the picture as it was flipped over and a list came up saying: settings, about flash player, and download this video to real player. so i was curious as to what video the computer was referring to so i downloaded it. when i clicked the play button i saw a blonde girl giving h*@d in the dark. and a website address pops up at the end of this 6 second video. let me know if you guys think this has anything to do with anything about 01-18-08.

okay, i think i just found something else pretty interesting...
okay so as of right now, i have three tabs opened up.

well, i've been in the 1-18-08, and i have just recently went onto the other two.
so i was reading this atricle or whatever, and all of a sudden, a big roaring sound came out of my speakers, scaring the crap out of me!
im guessing it was the 1-18-18 site, since the other two i dont think would do that randomly out of nowhere.

so, yeah, try it out with your speakers turned up.
it might scare you, but its worth hearing i think...
it was deffinantly clover, the monster i think.
