The more I see of The Da Vinci Code, the more it looks like a slicker, better acted version of National Treasure. Sony has just released a second full trailer for the movie, and it only solidifies that impression.

There's nothing wrong with being a classier, brainier version of National Treasure, National Treasure is a good movie and any time you can replace Nic Cage with Tom Hanks that's a pretty nice upgrade. Whatever Da Vinci Code really is, the movie is really starting to look good. Of course anything with Tom Hanks in it or directed by Ron Howard generally looks good so we're only getting what we expect. At least there's no disappointment.
