New Dark Knight Rises Vehicle Spotted In Pittsburgh
Though it looks like Batman won’t have a new car for The Dark Knight Rises, that doesn’t mean he won’t have some other new vehicle. The Dark Knight gave us the batpod and it looks like Rises may give rise to some other means of Bat-transportation.
The image below was spotted by Batman-News and, if you don’t want to know, don’t scroll any further. Seriously, this may be a spoiler so don’t keep going if you want to be surprised. Still here? Alright here’s the image:
The image was taken as the vehicle went into the Wabash Tunnel in Pittsburgh, PA where The Dark Knight Rises is currently filming. It appears to be some sort of flying vehicle and there’s an obvious and definite design similarity to the Tumbler we all know from the past two movies. This is probably the new Batwing, but or some other new Batman ride. It’s such a confusing cacophony of shapes though, that it’s hard to tell whether this is the front or the back, let alone whether this is definitely an aircraft. Batsub? Bat hover-tank? Maybe, but I'm betting Batwing, perhaps with the wings folded in to allow easy transport. Here’s what the Batwing looked like the last time it was seen on film in Joel Schumacher’s Batman movies:
And here’s how Tim Burton did it in his 80s Batman:
