New Eclipse TV Spot: You'd Never Know This Was A Romance Movie
The most interesting thing about the marketing campaign for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is the way they've tried to present the movie as a more traditional, straightforward horror story-- and actually succeeded. It started when they hired 30 Days of Night's David Slade to direct it, and the more we see from the movie, the more it seems like this might be the first Twilight film that doesn't have laughable action sequences. That's still not likely to convince guys to see it, but hey, it's a step in the right direction.
The latest TV spot for the film, which debuted at Fandango and can be viewed there in HD, leans really heavily on the action elements. Titled "Missing," it starts by talking about some kid named Riley Biers who disappeared and was apparently transformed into a villainous vampire. Kristen Stewart has about two lines in the whole thing, and seriously, if you didn't know about the franchise, you wouldn't even know romance was involved in this movie. It's an interesting marketing tactic, although only time will tell if it will be at all successful. Check out the new spot below. |
