New Expendables Trailer Is Doing It Backwards image
There is a basic progression that Hollywood tends to follow when releasing trailers for blockbuster films. First comes the teaser, which is simply met to whet your appetite. Next is the first full trailer, which lets you watch a bit of the action but typically stays short on story. Finally, the second full trailer strikes a balance between plot and action, letting audiences get an idea as to what they will be watching when they enter the theater. Apparently nobody told the people behind The Expendables about this.

IGN has posted the second feature trailer for the film and it's a teaser trailer. Not "like" a teaser trailer, but a honest-to-God teaser trailer. Shorter than both the first and second previews, the one minute video doesn't show any footage from the film, only reflections of the characters off of a metal skull. There is a pretty cool monologue by Stallone over the first half that makes it worth watching, but it's questionable why they didn't release this months before the previous two. It should also be noted that they once again show off Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis just in case you missed them the first time around. Remember when trailers used to hide things from the audience? I sure don't.

Check out the trailer below.
