Though Mia Wasikowska earned good reviews for her title role in Tim Burtonís Alice in Wonderland, itís nice to see the young actress isnít riding Burtonís coattails to fame. Upcoming, Wasikowska can be seen in the new Gus Van Sant production, Restless and she has the new Jim Jarmusch project on the forefront. If you havenít caught her in anything yet, you can check her out in Jane Eyre when it hits Blu-Ray and DVD on August 16.

The film, based on Charlotte Bronteís famous novel of the same name, also features Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell, and Judi Dench. Special features with both DVD and Blu-Ray releases will include ďA Look InsideĒ the film, ďThe Mysterious Light of Jane EyreĒ featurette, and commentary from director Cary Fukunaga. Thereís also a collaborative featurette from Fukunaga and composer Dario Marianelli. If the latter feature is even half as interesting as the Trent Reznor, Atticus Finch, and David Fincher collaborative segment present on The Social Network releases, it will be a worthwhile inclusion.

There are a ton of Jane Eyre releases out there to choose from and you can check them out on Amazon. What sets Fukunagaís production apart is its gothic feel, its up-and-coming talent, and a good score. That may not be enough to compete with Orson Welles, Bernard Herrmann, and an early Elizabeth Taylor appearance, but you canít say Universal Studios Home Entertainment didnít put in major effort.
