New Marvel Short Film Sees Agent Coulson Caught Up In A Robbery
Today is a good day for Marvel fans. In addition to Thor being released on Blu-ray and DVD, fans can now watch the entire short film, The Consultant, that we previewed last month. But the goodies don't end there. When Captain America: The First Avenger comes out in October, it will have yet another Marvel One-Shot titled A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer and now a preview has been posted online.
Cinematographer David Myrick (via Hollywood.com) has posted the video on his official site. The film features S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson traveling to New Mexico from Los Angeles to examine a disturbance in the desert - which turns out to be Thor's hammer. Check out the preview below. While I did like some some aspects, I thought the full Consultant short was a bit disappointing, as a good chunk of it is just footage from The Incredible Hulk and it doesn't really add much to to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This one, however, seems to be more of a solo adventure for Coulson. Sure, we know where he's coming from and where he's going, but I don't remember any scene in any of the Marvel movies where a gas station is held up. It looks like this will just be a chance for Coulson to be a badass. |
