Earlier this month I praised the New Moon music folks when they chose Death Cab for Cutie to write the main track for the Twilight sequel, "Meet Me on the Equinox." Now the full track list for the movie has been announced in THR, and it's a motley collection of indie bands that I'm just hip enough to know about, and others that make me feel very, very old.
Among the bigger names are Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, The Killers, Muse, OK Go and Grizzly Bear, while some folks named Editors, Sea Wolf and Lykke Li are in there too. Yes, plenty of you are mocking me in your minds right now for not having heard of those people, but I do not care. THR points out that the Twilight soundtrack spent 20 weeks in the Billboard top 10, the first time a soundtrack has managed that feat since both Titanic and City of Angels did it back in 1998. As a former teenage girl who owned both of those soundtracks on CD, I think I may finally be connecting with Twihards at long last.
Check out the full track listing below. The New Moon soundtrack comes out October 20, exactly a month before the movie is set to be released.
