National Treasure 2 appears to be shaping up to be exactly what everyone seems to want it to be: More of the same. One of Cinema Blend’s long time forum members worked his way into a test screening earlier this week, and his report back indicated as much. He says, “It's like the same movie as the first one. Not in a bad way though. It's a lot of fun still. Still dumb, but tons of fun.” As a fan of the original, that sounds perfect to me.

The sequel has just gotten a brand new trailer, with more plot details and tons of new footage. It does a good job of bearing out the notion that this is more of the good time the last one delivered. One minor quibble though: Give me more of the National Treasure narrator. Come on, you know what I mean. The “Big Voice” guy they use in the National Treasure trailers is instantly identifiable, and has a more distinct, American, and grandiose voice than the usual Movie Announcer Guy. He’s played a part in the other trailers, but in this one he’s relegated to simply saying the movie’s title while some other random narrator dude gets most of the talking at the trailer’s end. Give me more National Treasure Movie Announcer Guy!
