Guillermo del Toro has been a busy guy the past year but has still managed to get protege Troy Nixey’s film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark through the production process and on the road to release. The film, which stars Katie Holmes (cringe!) and Guy Pearce (relief!), is about a young girl who moves in with her father and his new girlfriend only to discover there are creatures in the house that “want to claim her as one of their own.”

This new poster premiered over at CHUD and will be handed out until supplies run out at SDCC tomorrow so keep an eye out for those guys kicking around the halls. Unfortunately the film doesn’t hit until January 21st, but the poster is really nice and mercifully devoid of any and all traces of disembodied body parts. It ought to hold you over until the possible trailer premiere in Hall H.
