New Priest Trailer Is An Extended Clip image
When crafting a movie trailer, the idea is to provide wide audiences with a better sense of the entire movie condensed down to two-and-a-half minutes. For a movie like Priest, this is usually accomplished by splicing scenes together in a montage format- action scene here, cool line of dialogue there, big explosion and title card. The new trailer for the comic book adaptation, however, takes a different tact.

Yahoo! has released yet another look at the Scott Charles Stewart-directed film, which is due out on May 13. In the film, Paul Bettany plays a priest who goes against his order when his niece is captured by a gang of vampires. The cast also includes Christopher Plummer, Cam Gigandet, Karl Urban, Maggie Q and Lily Collins.

Check out the trailer below or in HD over on Yahoo!

Watching the trailer, you may have noticed that it pretty much abandons the whole "this movie has a story" angle in favor of an extended sequence in which Bettany and Gigandet get attacked by vampires, and, frankly, that probably is the best way to sell the movie. If Priest is going to be worth watching in any capacity, it's because it will have some really cool fight sequences and snappy lines. Basically, if the movie is two hours of the minute we just watched, it could be successful.
