What’s the deal with I Love You Phillip Morris? I’m not talking about the fact that it features Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor in an awkwardly trite gay relationship, rather that little is being done to get anyone in the US excited for its March release. It seems to be making more progress abroad. We snagged the film’s obnoxiously cliché international trailer back in July and, just the other day, Jim Carrey Online announced the film’s Japanese trailer website went live.

Now, IMP Awards got a hold of the new Russian poster. It shows off Carrey as Steve Russell, family man turned con artist turned jailbird, and his prison sweetheart, Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor). I don’t know what’s worse, the outfits, the mini pinscher accessories or the fact that both actors are airbrushed to the extreme. Just as almost every US distributor had no interest in this film after Sundance 2009, I have no interest in checking it out when it hits theaters stateside on March 26th, 2010. Will anyone care when the film finally gets its domestic release?
