Cutting a trailer specifically for the crowd at the 2009 Scream Awards, the makers of Shutter Island have done a good job of convincing me to be very, very afraid of this movie. Spike TV posted the whole thing, and we also have it embedded below. It's pretty much the same formula of the trailers we've seen before-- Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo arrive at the mental hospital for the criminally insane, and shit starts to go awry in short order, with Ben Kingsley, Jackie Earle Haley and a spectral Michelle WIlliams all popping up at various points to torment Leo.

It's hard to get a sense of exactly what the problem is here, but that's probably the point. Scorsese's new film doesn't open until February, but hey, it gives us something to look forward to once the gut of quality of Oscar stuff lets up at the end of the year. Check out the new trailer below.
