New Tintin Images Reveal Nick Frost And Simon Pegg's Characters![]()
The British Empire magazine is debuting the first-ever images from Peter Jackson's The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn in their print edition, but only made a handful of the images available online. Now, thanks to the French site FilmsActu.com, we've got a look at scans from other images in the film, featuring the Thompson twins played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the thief Silk played by Toby Jones, and Joe Starr's character Barnaby. There's also a nice shot of what appears to be Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) and Tintin himself (Jamie Bell) in the desert, which gives a nice sense of the cartoony, mo-cap visuals of the film.
Check out all three below and click to go to FilmsActu, where they have surprisingly high-res versions. I'm still a little skeptical about the film, both because the visuals seem a little off somehow and the character of Tintin is a bit of a mystery to me (and most Americans). But these images do make me feel more encouraged, if only because that desert shot seems to strike the perfect balance between realism and mimicking the hand-drawn style of the original cartoons. It's still unclear how it will work when the images actually move, but it's a promising step in the right direction at least. ![]()
