New Transformers TV Spot Brings Back Wheelie, The Leg-Humping Autobot![]()
The Transformers franchise, as completely reinvented by Michael Bay and his movies, is no longer just for kids. Sure, plenty of the adults who go see the movies have fond memories of playing with robots in disguise action figures as children, but the Transformers movies are crammed with military men and endless explosions precisely to get away from that-- these are movies for real men, don't you know that? All the same, any franchise that makes so much money from selling action figures has to get kids in the audience too, PG-13 rating be damned, and the kid-targeting for the third film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, has finally begun.
In a TV spot put online by, uh, MichaelBay.com, you can see a few new shots of Sam Witwicky at his fancy new Chicago job before it's taken over by Decepticons, an actual line of dialogue spoken by new love interest Rose Huntington-Whiteley, and the return of Wheelie, the Autobot last seen humping Megan Fox's leg. He's a lot more kid-friendly this time, actually riding a dog, and it goes along with the whole vibe of the TV spot, showing off jokes and friendly narration, even with a little bit of city-wide destruction sneaking in on the sidelines. The kids are gonna love it. Transformers: Dark of the Moon opens June 30. Transformers 3 "Biggest Adventure" HD from Michael Bay Dot Com on Vimeo. |
