New Year's Eve Finds A Place For Josh Duhamel![]()
Whenever I look at Josh Duhamel, I can't help but see a much less badass Timothy Olyphant, and it may have something to do with the roles they choose. While Olyphant is busy roaming Kentucky terrain as a US Marshall on Justified and shooting down bad guys, Duhamel is going to be doing his Tad Hamilton shtick in New York on New Year's Eve.
The Wrap reports that Duhamel has signed on as one of the seemingly thousands of actors in Garry Marshall's Valentine's Day follow-up. The film already stars, amongst others, Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Halle Berry, Abigail Breslin, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Biel, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, and Sarah Jessica Parker. There are no character details for Duhamel at this time. The film is scheduled to go into production next month. I'm curious if anyone out there has any real expectation of quality from this movie. Valentine's Day, though successful at the box office, holds a meager 5.7 rating on IMDb (albeit with 9.1% of the voters giving it a 10/10) and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 17%. Have we reached the point where the general public is now anticipating and gladly shoveling out money for realized mediocrity? That's kind of sad. |
