Nicolas Cage's superhero fantasy will come true in a few months, when he stars in Ghost Rider. But his foray into comics won't end there. Variety says one of the next projects on Nic's plate will be a comic book movie financed by wacky billionaire Richard Branson.

The comic is "The Sadhu", a title published by Branson's Virgin comics and written by the son of once trendy spiritual guru Deepak Chopra. If it's origin hasn't scared you off, just wait till you read about the plot. Here's the official description from Virgin's website:

"The Sadhu is about one man's choice between his spiritual oath and his human instinct. When James Jensen, a down on his luck Englishman, is recruited into her majesty Queen Victoria's army and posted with his family in India in the summer of 1858, he begins a journey that will take him from being a simple soldier to a spiritual warrior. But faced with tragedy and his own impending execution at the hands of his evil commanding officer, James flees his military unit only to find himself lost deep in the jungle and at the mercy of a seeming band of Indian killers. But when their leader, Dadathakur, orders a reprieve and eventually allows James to join them on their attacks of the local Indian landowners that side with the British, James embarks on a dark path of violence in an effort to avenge the atrocities committed to his family. But soon he discovers it's not the answer and is drawn to the gentle nature and sublime wisdom of Dada. James adopts the ways of the Sadhu, a coded way of life that not only teaches an obscure form of martial arts but also illuminates the true nature of reality and at last teaches James the one eternal truth: the path we choose is who we are."

Now go back and count the number of times the word "But" is used in that paragraph. I think the best way to describe it is gobbledeegook. But (two can play this game) what else would you expect from the spawn of Deepak Chopra?

If that isn't enough sucking for you Nic Cage fans, then check out the other project he's working on with his 15-year-old son. While it's great for fathers to spend time with their kids, I don't see why we should have to spend time with them as well. Nic disagrees, and so he's used his star power to talk Virgin Comics into publishing a book written by him and his kid. It's called "Enigma".

Suddenly the picture becomes clearer. Could The Sadhu be the price Cage is paying to get Virgin to publish his kid? That's the only explanation I can come up with, because otherwise Cage is much too good for this.
