Nic Cage Plays A Coward![]()
The increasingly Ichabod Nicolas Cage has been hired to star in the upcoming movie Crazy Dog for director Joseph Ruben.
Crazy Dog is another New York City cop movie. Written by Henry Bean and Nick Kazan, this one is the story of an officer who chickens out in a tough spot and causes the death of one of his friends. Feeling pretty guilty, he gets self-destructive only to turn things around and seek redemption for his act of cowardice. Ruben you might remember as the director of Sleeping with the Enemy, and a couple of years ago he brought you the kind of good crazy mother versus alien super vacuum movie The Forgotten. He’s a capable director and probably perfect for the run-of-the-mill cop drama this sounds like. Cage is money no matter what you stick him in, so the film’s bound to come out as at least mediocre. Nic Cage got acclaim last year starring in the audience ignored movies The Weather Man and Lord of War. You’ve got to give him some credit, he really tries to pick great, meaningful movies. So far though, he just hasn’t hit on the right one. I might love The Weather Man, but apparently almost no one else does. In the next couple of years, he’ll be insanely busy. Signing him up for Crazy Dog brings his upcoming movie total to a hefty ten, and that’s not counting some voice work in Ant Bully. The next place you’ll see Nic is either in Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center, a remake of The Wicker Man, or in the superhero movie Ghost Rider. All three have been playing release date water polo, so it’ll depend on which one decides to stick with a release date and hit theaters first. |
