Nicolas Cage Movie Wreaks Havoc In New York

Nicolas Cage Movie Wreaks Havoc In New York I walked past the set for The Sorcerer's Apprentice last night and wondered if I'd manage to see anything interesting. Turns out, apparently the action had all happened the night before. Early Monday morning a stunman driving a Ferrari through Times Square crashed the car into a Sbarro's, hitting two pedestrians and giving them minor injuries along the way.

The New York Post had the original report and the video plus images, which show the car actually not looking all that damaged. THR quoted a statement from the production company saying "All safety regulations were followed and second unit filming will continue as planned."

The problem with filming a movie on the streets of New York, especially in a jammed area like Times Square, is there are bound to be pedestrians everywhere, even when a Ferrari is barreling down the street. I honestly wonder how they even get permission to drive a car that fast. Luckily everyone turned out OK, and perhaps unfortunately for us, The Sorcerer's Apprentice will continue shooting as planned.
