Although McLovin is one bad mo-fo, he certainly can’t carry a movie all by himself. He needs other actors to do things while he’s getting down with his bad self. So, while we told you a few weeks back that Christopher Mintz-Plasse was going to be in Kick-Ass, we knew that more casting news was coming. Now it’s here.
According to HR, Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, and Lyndsy Fonseca have joined the violent comic book adaptation, directed by Stardust’s Matthew Vaughn. While Cage is the big name here, the real star will be Johnson, who plays Dave Lizewski. Lizewski is a 15-year old who has no powers, ability, or coordination, but decides to become superhero. He is also in love with Fonseca’s character but she thinks he’s gay! It’s like Three’s Company all over again, where’s Mr. Roper?
Cage is former cop with a daughter, played by Chloe Moretz, who he has trained to take on drug gangs. Mintz-Plasse is playing the villain, the Red Mist. The comic was created by writer Mark Millar and drawn by John Romita Jr. Millar is well-known these days as the creator of the comic they based Wanted on. No word on if there will be that curving bullet trick in this one.
