Ratatouille and Sicko aside, it seems Paris’s reputation as the city of love isn’t what it used to be. Variety says Nicole Kidman is set to star in a movie called Monte Carlo about a woman who ditches a boring vacation to find romance in Monte Carlo. That’s sort of like ditching Dennys and going to McDonald’s for pancakes.

Kidman’s character is one of three Midwestern teachers on a budget holiday. They leave Paris to pose as wealthy women in Monaco. I guess the dollar goes further against the Monie, or whatever they call their currency.

No word on who the other three women are, but it’s directed and co-written by Tom Bezucha, who is absolutely no relation to the bubble gum mogul. His last name is spelled “Bazuka”. Bezucha’s last project was directing the underrated holiday downer The Family Stone in 2005.
