Nimrod Antal Opens Up About His Next Project After Predators![]()
Depending on how next weekend's release of Predators goes, Nimrod Antal could be in a very enviable position. The Predator franchise hasn't had a critically successful release since the original came out in 1987, and being the director to successfully resurrect it will make fanboys' hearts worldwide go aflutter. Should things all go well, Antal is already set with the project that he wants to do next.
Speaking with The Playlist, Antal revealed that, should it be his choice, his next film would be from a script entitled Paraffin which the director wrote himself. Calling the movie a "passion project," he said that it was the film that he intended to make after his 2003 film, Kontrol, but things never worked out. While Antal was unable to reveal a full storyline, he did offer up this juicy bit: "Men and women will build a boat out of plastic bottles in Cuba to escape oppression, right? So imagine if our world has become that [kind of] oppression. You aren't building plastic bottle boats anymore, you have to build something else to get out of here." Just as long as they aren't building plastic bottle arks (a la 2012) it sounds like a splendid idea. It's hard not to be rooting for the guy and Predators (who doesn't want to see that franchise to return to its full glory?) and hopefully everything will pan out next week. |
