Nintendo Power The video game company that has been romped and ravaged by Microsoft and Sony in recent years in the console wars now seems to be putting it’s hat in the film game.
Former company president Hiroshi Yamauchi will head the new division of Nintendo set out to create animated feature films based on their video game properties of Zelda, Super Mario, and Metroid. This past April, director John Woo announced his development of a live action version of Metroid set for an alleged 2006 release. 2006 will is also see the debut of the first feature film from the Nintendo animation department. The 2006 film slate is rumored to be a publicity springboard for Nintendo’s new game console. Nintendo making movies......don’t know if this is a good thing.
