As more and more trailers reveal Hancock as more of a comedy than the “existential crisis” superhero movie, Will Smith’s character is starting to resemble 30 Rock’s Tracy Jordan. No, stay with me here. Both have an inflated sense of how useful they are, a nose for trouble, and a tendency to pretend to forget/actually forget events that most people would consider important.

The latest trailer for the movie, which you can find here under “Trailer 2,” is now available in a legal, super-sharp version (you might remember we posted a YouTube version after it debuted on American Idol last week. As we said then, it’s a pretty phenomenal trailer, giving a far better idea of the movie’s mix of comedy and action, and guaranteeing that, even though he’s playing a drunk, the sassy Will Smith of Bad Boys and Men in Black is on display.

We’ll have to get through the quartet of giant action/adventure movies in May, but once the June comedies come around, I imagine a lot of people will be getting pumped for Hancock. Check out the trailer and get a good look at what is almost definitely Will Smith’s next megahit.
