Old School Director Unleashes Chadster![]()
For over three years now, the long expected sequel plans for Old School have flip flopped more than a nervous presidential candidate. One day, the script was great and all of the stars were on board; the next afternoon it was a complete disaster, doomed to preproduction hell. Amid the brouhaha of changes, director Todd Phillips has gone on to helm Starsky and Hutch and School For Scoundrels. It now appears, the thirty six year old “visionary” has taken on another unrelated project.
Variety is reporting that the Road Trip director has signed on to produce and possibly director Chadster. The film will follow an exuberant best man, overly proud of his title and eager to garner wedding attention. Unfortunately, for the good buddy, he is soon overshadowed when a long lost friend appears to upstage him. That sneaky bastard. Only God (and Todd Phillips) knows what the future wife is doing during all of this. I’d guess ingesting a possibly lethal mix of Prozac, TrimSpa, and Jose Cuervo. I have to be honest, if done right, this could be hilarious. There’s nothing funnier than an enraged bride, screaming at her future husband and his drunk and overly spiteful friends. It’s like toddlers crying on Santa’s Lap: at first you feel bad, but if the emotional train wreck continues, the irony overwhelms the serotonin and forces you to smile. |
