Nepotism is a bad, bad word in Hollywood. Some decide to go the legal route to avoid the accusations, instead taking the last name of a Marvel superhero (cough, Nicolas Cage, cough), while some wear their surname like a badge of honor (Sofia Copolla, Breck Eisner, Charlie Sheen, etc.). Whether justifiable or not, the offspring of successful filmmakers are always dogged by the idea until they establish their own talent. Enter Sean Stone.

The New York Post says Sean, son of Oliver Stone, has been hired to direct his first feature film, Shadowland. A horror movie about the asylum where Rosemary Kennedy was lobotomized, Sean is also set to star and Oliver will play his father. Monique van Vooren, who played a role in Wall Street, is also attached.

So is this nepotism or talent? Let's run the list, shall we? Act in your parent's films? Check (eleven times). Make a name for yourself using your parent's work? Check (Sean directed three documentaries about Alexander's production). Remind everyone who your parent is by having appear in your feature debut. Check. Shadowland better be one hell of a movie.
